Plasma Fibroblast is one of the newest anti-aging procedures available. It is a minimally invasive technology that targets several anti aging or skin concerns such as loose skin, wrinkles, stretch marks, scars and pigmentation of the skin. Often only one treatment will be needed to see amazing results but can be repeated every three months. By utilizing a high quality FDA approved Plasma Pen which releases a targeted current of ionized gas to the upper layer of the skin ( imagine a tiny lightening bolt creating heat energy, causing a miniature wound ) stimulates Fibroblast cells to heal the tiny wound by creating new collagen and elastin and bring back skin tightness, collagen and glow. Results last 3-5 years and only change with the natural aging process.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Plasma Fibroblast Therapy targets Fibroblast cells which are collagen and protein producing cells in the dermis. A "plasma pen device" releases heat energy through a probe that never touches your skin, but creates a tiny dot on the skins surface. The skin contracts and immediately pulls inward. This is why you are able to see results right away. Fibroblast treatment induces a healing process which is essential for collagen production. Specifically collagen type 1 & 3 which kept you firm, glowing and youthful looking.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
First the topical anesthetic cream is applied to numb the area. The numbing usually works after 30-40 minutes. The procedure itself can be anywhere between 20 minutes for "Angry lines" and 4 hours for the entire face and neck.
IMPORTANT STEPS TO TAKE PRIOR TREATMENT
Before treatment starts, please be aware of the following PRE - CARE Steps
* No Retinol or AHA's 2 products can be used 2 weeks prior to your appointment * No tanning two weeks prior to your appointment. * No chemical peels at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment. * No Botox & fillers 2-4weeks prior to your appointment and not for 4 weeks after your appointment * It is recommended to support your immune system by taking Vitamin C 1-2 weeks prior treatment
IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?
An effective numbing cream (Lidocaine, Tetracaine and Benzocain mix) is applied 30+ minutes prior to the procedure. Your comfort is a very high priority and every effort is made to keep any discomfort at a minimum. Pain and tolerance levels differ from person to person as well as skin sensitivity. Many clients experience no pain at all or some a mild to moderate discomfort.
HOW WILL IT FEEL AFTER THE PROCEDURE? There will be some mild swelling and redness at the treated area, however the eye area can show some significant swelling for around 2-3 days which usually appears on day 2 and is present until day 4. Wrapped ice packs can help to shorten the duration. The tiny crusts will form right away and must be handled with great care. Absolutely no picking, rubbing, or trying to remove the crusts early or you could risk scarring. Your skin knows best when to drop them! Depending on your skin type, (oily skin often drops the crusts sooner) will last for 5-10 days and flake/fall off naturally. During this healing phase the dots become harder, darker in color, shrink in size and become less noticeable by the day. We advice strongly not to use make-up during the crusting phase. You won't experience pain but there might be a sensation similar to a sunburn, skin tightness and itching for 2 days. These are normal aspects of healing but the After Care System helps to keep discomfort at a minimum.
IS THE TREATMENT SAFE?
The treatment is overall very safe as it is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure, meaning there is no blood present, no cutting, injections, or penetration of needles involved. Please be aware that if the Aftercare routine is not followed and the post treatment "rules" are not followed, scarring and hyperpigmentation could occur.
WHAT DOES THE AFTER CARE ROUTINE AND RULES LOOK LIKE?
Aftercare is EXTREMELY important to achieve desired results
1. Do not pick, scratch or remove carbon crusts. If you do so it could result in hypo-pigmentation and permanent scarring. The longer they stay on the better. 2. Apply After Care products as directed. If you are exposed to the sun at any time use 50 SPF (zinc or hypoallergenic ingredients) and repeat often when outside. Protect the treated area additionally with a hat. This is especially important during the first month after the treatment. 3. As long as the crusts are present, don't cover it up with make up, band aids etc. 4. Keep the treated area dry. Moisture/Wetness from showering as well as sweating could make the crusts soggy and prolong the healing process. 5. During the crusting phase avoid saunas, pools and ocean, solarium or any kind of exposure to activities which present risk for infection of the treated area 6. Keep the treated area away from direct sunlight for at least 3 weeks, always apply 50 SPF 7. Do not apply any beauty products containing alcohol or other scents during the crusting phase
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
The tightening effect is visible right after the treatment but the final results will be visible after 8-10 weeks when the skin enters the third phase of healing - collagen and connective tissue growth!
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
Usually Fibroblast is a one session treatment but depending on the desired degree of correction it might need 2-3. Most clients are satisfied after only one treatment. It can be repeated after the skin is fully generated 10-12 weeks.
